July 21st, 2011 - 378 views - Print This Post - Print as PDF

1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar (if it too sweet, can put 1/2 only)
250 grams unsalted butter, cold
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt (if using salted butter, roughly around 1/8 also enough)
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup of any nuts (hazelnut or walnuts or almond or pecans or bit of everything) toasted and chopped

Preheat oven to 150°C and make sure the oven rack is on the third place from the top

1 – Preferably by using mixer, beat both sugars and all butter together until smooth.

2 – Add in the mixture egg, vanilla and baking soda.

3 – After the mixture all smooth, put in salt and flour.

4 – Mix in the chocolate chips and nuts

5 – Scoop the dough using spoon and place it on the baking sheets 5 cm apart from each other as the cookies will melt and expand.

6 – Bake it for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

7 – Cool it off.
