Was assigned to build a webpage for ex-services army. The database given in Microsoft Access and I need to build it using PHP. Duh…

Yep. Its doable. And yep, its second post today, haha. We can use PHP and Microsoft Access by using odbc_connect . However how am I gonna upload the database to the webserver that only host MySQL. Haha so I need to migrate the database first. Have you ever thinking migrating database before?

Firstly I thought it was an easy peasy job. But when looking at the database, I started to scratch my nose. Haha it got more then 20 columns and more then 600 rows for the main table. Exluding another 10+ tables that come together with the package.

And this is where Mr Google play its role. After spending sometime playing, and talking to Mr Google, here comes the result: www.bullzip.com providing free converter from Microsoft Access to MySQL. There are other applications also, such as converting Microsoft Access to MsSQL and pdf printer for microsoft. If you have any other ways, please do share with me, please!! :D

This may be an old news, but its new for me since I just learn it last week. Its been awhile since last I touch Microsoft Access. Was it, Microsoft Office 1997? Hahaha Its damn long… 10years ago!!!

p/s: Raja Petra Kamaruddin (RPK) got arrested today. ISA summore. Who is he? A blogger that always wrote things that giving different perspective of Malay and Islam in Malaysia, which USUALLY lead towards misunderstanding, if u didnt understand enough. Hahaha and the stoopid part is, he was arrested because of the spammers that commented his post. Not because of his post. LOL ~
